Using your PBS Field Multitool

A multitool proves itself on small jobs, the ones that would otherwise wait until you found the toolbox. Here is how to have the PBS Field Multitool ready, and how to get the most from it.

Before you need it

• Open each tool once. Learn where each one sits in the frame, so you find it first time.
• Give it a home. In its belt sheath, in the car's glovebox, or in your kit bag.

Using it well

1. Open only the tool you need, and fold it away before opening the next.
2. Use the right tool for the job: pliers to grip, the wire cutter for wire, a screwdriver for screws.
3. Wipe it clean and dry after use, and keep it in its sheath.

• Around the house. Tighten a cabinet hinge, snip a zip tie, open a stubborn package.
